Google Reader, Domaining Feeds Rock On!
In my attempt to gather more insight into the domaining world I have compiled my list of domaining blogs, written by those that I feel are passionate about this industry. We can refer to this list as the discredited! For those of you who are discredited, feel free to celebrate and perhaps add a link to my blog.
The Discredited:
Conceptualist.com
DomainSubway.com
UrlAcademy.com
isitmeoriseveryoneelsestupid.com
I added these blogs, because I feel they represent an extremely well diverse group of domainers who actually blog about their individual experiences. Even someone as successful as Sahar Sarid of the Conceptualist has his obstacles. He has detailed the issues that have come with the large amounts of publicity and traffic that his bido.com brand has received. The project has been so successful that they had to pull the auctions down for a while to help the development team catch up with the known exploits and bugs that the site currently has.
Then there is Julia’s Domaining Blog, I’ll let you guess which domain this is listed above. I ran into her site while browsing the forums on namepros, she definitely has an amazing link space I must say. Infact her link is located here:
Right under the wonderful Parked advertisement space! Great job on this Julia, definitely works to be a moderator at such an amazing domaining forum. Now back to Julia, her writing style is quite sarcastic, although I don’t know much about her, she definitely keeps her reader’s interested in what she is saying and that is reflected in the domain she chose for her own domaining blog is it me or is everyone else stupid! Well put Julia, you definitely shed a bit of humour on an industry that needs it!
I’ve already talked about URL Academy and it is definitely a blog that should be followed by those who want to learn a great deal, while reading about a domainer who loves his job! Then there is Domain Subway, now I must admit the blog itself has not been around long, it is not necessarily a great read, but it does showcase one thing and that is honesty. The domainer behind this blog was in the realestate industry at one time and he applies some of this realestate know-how to the domaining industry. Since both industries are closely related, he proves that the same rules apply. Can you say branding? The Domain Subway brand is quickly becoming something, what it is I don’t know but perhaps we should all tune in and see what happens! I initially visited the Domain Subway blog because of the ad space at the bottom of namepros, definitely a great idea to market a blog in such a manner!
That’s it for the discredited list, until next time! No awards of any nature will be given out, but maybe I will have a few of those ribbon graphics for bloggers to post on their individual sites.
Best Regards,
Jason Thompson

Hi Jason,
Thanks for mentioning Bido in your blog post.
All of us here at Bido are looking forward to our relaunch, and in the interim while we are on hiatus, we’re rebuilding our architecture. There weren’t “known exploits” so to speak, we just needed an architecture that could handle the load and bursts of influx of traffic. The platform is actually quite secure, we have tens of developers and security experts on staff that maintain it as such. The design of the innards of the platform are regarded as having bank level security, we take pride in that. Your comments and well wishes are appreciated but choice of words perhaps simply moved me to mention these things to point out and provide some clarification. Wish you nothing but the best with your blog and I will be reading it more often!
Kind regards,
Jarred

Hey Jarred,
Sounds like the architecture is on its way to being rock solid. Will you eventually release some documents on the processes used to develop the entire bido system, maybe a “White Paper” of some sort? I am sure the domaining community would love to learn more about the system, down to the core components and inner-operations. I look forward to utilizing the system in the future!

Don’t forget about those who you banned!

Wow, thank you so much for mentioning DomainSubway.com. I agree, the blog and myself are new to this industry. Soon enough you will see my name on DNJournal.com articles and top sales thread : )
Again thanks, I will try to keep it as real as I can. I try to get on a couple days a week but it is not always easy. I have many other projects and a pretty hot domainer blog, check it out at http://www.DNKitchen.com. We have weekly comic strips which I think are pretty funny. I am also looking for some writers to co-blog with me. Send me an email if you’d like to get your name out there.
