Today I want to present a site, one that has become quite popular on the Internet but has been overlooked by a select few. This site has provided me with numerous opportunities to save on not just domain names but an entire world of different products. The site I am referring to is RetailMeNot.
It contains over 40,000 stores in its database and some of those stores pertain to the wonderful world of domaining. Now lets take a closer look at this. Every domainer has a special place they like to register domain names, but in this post I am going to focus on where the average consumer is most likely to register a domain.
Lets start with GoDaddy, if you visit RetailMeNot and type in Goaddy.com as the site you would like to view coupon codes for it provides around fifty coupon codes for you to choose from. Now lets touch base on one thing here, not all of the coupon codes are going to work! Some of these coupon codes are older than the cheese you have in the back of your fridge.
Today I renewed blushes.org, with the help of RetailMeNot I was able to save $3.20, the normal price of a .org registration at GoDaddy is $10.69 the code EMFB7 discounted the domain name to $7.67 which makes me quite happy. For me saving a few dollars goes a long way and helps me maximize the budget that I have for my domaining business.
Now lets move on a bit, with the help of wikipedia I have located the top 30 domain registrars based on market share rank. Lets focus our attention on the ninth registrar on the list, Moniker. To my disappointment the only coupon code RetailMeNot provides for Moniker has a 33% success rate and more than likely will not work.
Now let me pose another question? Now where do you think the average consumer is going to register there domain name? Anyways that is an entirely different story in its own.
